Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV released in Europe

Mitsubishi have revealed that it has already received over 10,000 signed orders across Europe for it’s much anticipated Outlander Plug-in Hybrid Electric, since it opened it’s order books in December 2012.Mitsubishi Outlander

Mitsubishi will launch it’s Outlander PHEV in Ireland in mid 2014, initially launching in the Nordic countries and the Netherlands with a view to opening it’s order books across the rest of Europe as demand increases. Mitsubishi have tried to make sure that the purchase price and running costs of the Outlander make it comparable to other 4x4s in it’s class which should give it a heads up over it’s competition.

The Outlander PHEV only differs from its Japanese market equivalent in complying with mandatory EU regulations and has a chassis fine-tuned to better suit European driving style.

The performance figures for the permanent electric ”Twin Motor 4WD” Outlander PHEV include, a maximum driving range of 824 km. The range in Pure EV Mode is in the region of 52 km (this will depend on weight loads and driving conditions). The fuel consumption is rated at 1.9l per 100km with CO2 emissions of 44g/km. Maximum speed is limited at 170km/h. Mitsubishi have indicated that  a charging time of 5 hours for normal charging and 30 minutes for a quick charge giving up to 80% battery capacity.Outlander PHEV

Behind the disguise of a plug and the electric drive ability, the Outlander PHEV is still a full 4×4 and it comes with a towing capacity of 1,500kg.
