Renault Kangoo ZE reaches 10,000 sales in Europe

Renault is celebrating the success of its first electric Commercial van, with the 10,000th registration of its Kangoo ZE van.

Renault ZE van in FrankfurtAt the Frankfurt Motor Show, Renault got the chance to hand over the keys to its 10,000th electric van to the German railway firm, Deutsche Bahn.

The Kangoo ZE is proving a good investment for companies and industry which use the vehicles on short frequent runs such as that used by the German Railways maintenance division.

The Renault Kangoo ZE is Europe’s leading small electric van and was launched in 2011. Fitted with a 22kWh lithium ion battery and a 44 kW  electric motor, the Kangoo ZE delivers 226Nm of torque and is capable of a driving range of around 105 miles per charge. Recharging can take as little as 30 minutes to an 80 per cent battery capacity using a DC fast charger.

The Kangoo  ZE is manufactured exclusively at the MCA plant in Maubeuge, France, and is marketed in 20 European countries.

Prices in Ireland start at €16,400 (including  VRT relief and an SEAI grant of €5,000).
